Profile

Carl is an excellent candidate who has studied Horticulture from 2008 when he enrolled onto a course at Merrist Wood College in Guildford. He excelled and earned a Distinction * Level 2 BTEC First Diploma in Horticulture. He then went onto earning a Double Merit Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Horticulture. He has pursued jobs in gardening and has a very good understanding and plenty of experience in this industry.

Carl is looking for his next role which ideally e would be to be in charge of a large garden, maintaining the grounds as well as taking on new projects.

Carl is trustworthy, hard-working and passionate person with a keen eye for gardening. He works well on my own as well as part of a team and has good communication skills. He strives for perfection, completing the job to the best of his ability whilst recognising any constraints such as time and money.

Carl is punctual, loyal and organised and a very good time keeper. He is always willing to take on a new challenge and feel this is the next step in my career.

Carl’s love gardening stems from when he as living with his grandparents in Wales. They had a large garden which he maintained.

 A typical day

“I currently work for a company that maintains and improves the grounds of a large estate working in a team of 4 as well as on my own. For the first two hours of every day, I look after my own greenhouse which is in charge of sowing new seeds; keep an eye on germination and growing the plants until they are ready to be transferred into cold frames, to be hardened off before plantation in the gardens. In previous years I have also worked in the hot house so have a good understanding of house plants. The rest of the day finds me maintaining the grounds as well as completing bigger projects such as creating new beds.”

I very much enjoyed interviewing Carl and have no hesitation in recommending him for the gardener position.
