Pets: No, but two Poodles visit regularly

Salary: £25,250 gross per annum

Holiday: Statutory paid holiday

Start Date: 1st June, but can be earlier

Hours Required: Generally, Monday to Friday, but some evening and weekend hours will be required, with advance notice. 30.5 hours per week.

Driver: A driver with own car is required

Summary:

This is a lovely role working for a retired couple in their home in Banstead, Surry. The home is a large, 6-bedroom property, over 3 floors.

One of their housekeepers is sadly retiring after many years and we are looking for a new live-out Housekeeper to help look after a busy family household.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Keeping the home running smoothly
  • Hands-on cleaning, laundry, and ironing
  • Looking after antiques and silverware
  • Running errands
  • Ensuring the home is well-maintained
  • Ensuring the house is ready for guests
  • Helping with dinner parties and other activities
  • Organising clothes for trips and ensuring the correct things are packed
  • Helping with other properties regularly
  • Liaising with other staff and contractors

Flexibility is essential and whilst most weeks you will work Monday to Friday; when guests are staying, there is an event or all the family is home you will need to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

Skills required are:

  • Experience of cleaning, ironing, maintaining a house and being happy to do these tasks
  • To be approachable, friendly and polite.
  • To respect people's privacy and dignity.
  • To respect confidentiality
  • To be able to prioritise your workload effectively.
  • To be good at planning and organising
  • To have good time management skills.
  • To be able to pay attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be able to drive
