Overview

A family in Esher is looking for an experienced part-time Housekeeper to take responsibility for the cleaning, care and presentation of their lovely, modern six-bedroom family home.

This is a morning position, ideally working Monday to Thursday for approximately four hours each day. The family can offer some flexibility in the days and timings for the right candidate.

The role requires a proper Housekeeper who takes pride in maintaining a home to a high standard. Responsibilities will include cleaning, laundry, linen care, ironing and wardrobe management, including organising and putting clothes away.

The family has a cocker spaniel, so a genuine dog lover is essential. Dog care will form part of the position.

Both principals are based at home but are regularly in and out. They are looking for someone sensible, discreet and low-key who is comfortable working independently and taking a proactive approach to the home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and caring for the family home to a high standard
  • Keeping the bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas clean, tidy and well presented
  • Managing the family's laundry, including washing, ironing, folding and putting clothes away
  • Linen care
  • Wardrobe management and organisation
  • Attending to other light household duties as they arise
  • Spending approximately 30 minutes on each working day checking on and playing with the family's dog, together with one or two dog walks per week
  • Occasionally receiving deliveries, letting the children into the house or speaking with the gardener
  • Some occasional flexibility to work additional hours or to help with dog-sitting during family holidays would be lovely, but neither is essential. Any holiday dog sitting would be agreed and paid separately.

Requirements

  • An experienced private household background
  • Previous experience in a similar private family housekeeping role
  • Excellent cleaning, laundry, linen care and ironing skills
  • Confident organising wardrobes and putting clothing away
  • Hardworking with excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive and comfortable working independently
  • Sensible, discreet and trustworthy
  • Pleasant and low-key when working around the family
  • Willing to offer reasonable flexibility for occasional additional hours or one-off household tasks

Benefits

  • Permanent part-time position
  • Weekday morning working pattern
  • Some flexibility in the precise days and timings for the right candidate
