Accommodation: 2-bedroom cottage with garden. Family would consider partner living in as well.
Summary:
A full time Housekeeper Carer is sought for an elderly couple in a Wiltshire village house. The role will be split 70% Housekeeping and 30% Care.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, resourceful, kind and will be able to help the family navigate changing needs over time. Previous experience and/or qualifications in dementia care or as a Companion are desirable.
The husband has been diagnosed with dementia, and is still relatively independent, but you will also need to be 'on call' in case of accidents and falls, and physically competent in this regard. You will occasionally be required to be present in the house while the wife is away or on overnight trips
Duties to include:
- Cleaning and tidying of the home (part time cleaner employed)
- Laundry and ironing including bedding
- Administration i.e. paying bills, sourcing, and liaising with tradespeople etc
- Cooking of meals on occasion
- Pet care
- Driving on occasion
