Why I Do This
People often ask how I came into this work. The simple answer is: I lived it.
At 35, I was diagnosed with breast cancer while raising two young children, aged four and seven. With no family nearby and daily life still needing to function, I found myself in urgent need of help at home. I turned to a local agency and quickly discovered that the right person doesn’t just keep things ticking over, she brought calm, care and reassurance at a time when everything felt uncertain.
That experience changed my life.
A short time later, I bought the agency, not as part of a career plan, but because I needed to do something meaningful, and I knew how much that support had mattered. I wanted to offer other families the same kind of practical, trustworthy help that had made such a difference to mine.
Having lived in the USA, Canada and Sweden, I’d seen how differently families are supported around the world. I knew the UK could do better. HomeOrganisers grew from that belief.
It is a values-led agency, built on empathy, integrity and the understanding that when a home is supported, everyone in it thrives.
That experience continues to shape everything I do today and underpins a meticulous, professional process that supports even the most complex family requirements.
